is already on your active list. What would you like to do?
Setting up
The first time you open the app, name your device. Something like "Dave's iPhone" works fine. Your partner will see this name when you're connected. After that, tap Create New List to start fresh, or Join Existing List to connect to one your partner already created.
Pairing with your partner
After creating a list, open the ☰ menu and tap Invite Partner. You'll get a QR code and an 8-character code. Your partner opens the app, taps Join Existing List, and scans the code or types it manually. You only need to do this once.
Adding items
Type an item name and tap Deploy. The name is the only required field. Quantity, category, notes, and photo are all optional. The app auto-detects the category, or you can set it yourself.
Checking off items
Tap the crosshair next to any item to mark it acquired. Checked items fade and move to the Acquired section at the bottom. Tap Clear All when you're done shopping to wipe the slate clean.
Editing and deleting items
Tap any item to edit its name, quantity, category, notes, or photo. To delete an item, tap the trash can on the right.
Weekly Staples
Tap Stock It on any item to save it as a weekly staple. At the start of your next trip, tap Reload Weekly Staples to add them all back at once. To remove an item from your staples, tap Unstock It.
Syncing
Changes sync automatically when both devices are online. The Sync button in the top right shows your connection status. Green means connected. Tap it to force a sync. If you're offline, changes are saved locally and sync when you reconnect.
Sending your list
Use Send List from the ☰ menu to send a backup link to your partner. On mobile, this opens the share sheet so you can send it via Messages, AirDrop, email, or any app you like. On desktop, the link is copied to your clipboard to paste wherever. When your partner opens the link, the app will prompt them to load the list.
Do I need an account or password?
No. No sign-up, no email, no password. Open the app and go.
Does it work without internet?
Yes. Add items, check things off, and attach photos with no signal. Everything syncs automatically when both devices are back online.
Is my list private?
Yes. Your list is end-to-end encrypted and syncs directly between your two devices. Nothing touches a server unencrypted, and nothing is stored in the cloud.
How many devices can share a list?
BulletproofCart P2P is designed for two devices.
Can I change my device name?
Yes. Open the ☰ menu, tap Settings, and tap Rename.
Can I save it as an app?
Yes, on both iPhone and Android.
On iPhone, open the app in Safari (not Chrome or Firefox). Tap the Share button, then Add to Home Screen.
On Android, open the app in Chrome. Tap the three-dot menu, then Add to Home Screen or Install App, depending on your version of Chrome.
My partner isn't seeing my changes
Both devices need an active internet connection to sync. Check that both phones have WiFi or mobile data, then tap Sync to reconnect. If that doesn't work, open the ☰ menu and use Send List to send your partner a backup link they can open directly.
The QR code won't scan
Use the 8-character code instead. It's shown right below the QR code on your partner's screen. Tap Join Existing List and type it in manually.
"Add to Home Screen" isn't appearing on iPhone
This only works in Safari. Copy the app link, open Safari, paste it into the address bar, and try again.
The app seems stuck or out of date
Tap the Sync button. If it's still off, close and reopen the app. A fresh sync handles most cases.
